This policy covers www.fortressrisk.com, operated by Fortress Risk Management, LLC ("Fortress," "we," "us"). Information you share with us during a consulting engagement is governed by your engagement letter, not by this page.
Information you give us
- Forms. Your name, company or firm, email address, and phone number; who referred you; your role, if you are an advisor; and your answers to the fit check, if you ask us to send you your reading.
- Scheduling. When you book a call, our scheduling tool collects your name, email address, phone number, and the time you chose.
- Email. Anything you choose to send us.
We ask only for what we need to reply. Please do not send Social Security numbers, policy numbers, financial account numbers, or tax returns through this site.
What the site records on its own
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data (IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time) to keep the site secure and running.
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors find and use the site: the pages viewed, the site that referred you, your general location as estimated from your IP address, your device and browser type, and whether a form or booking was completed. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. We never send your name, email address, or phone number to Google Analytics.
- The fit check. It runs in your browser. Your answers go nowhere unless you submit the form to receive your reading.
How we use it
- To reply to you, schedule calls, and send what you asked for.
- To follow up about captive consulting, if you asked to hear from us. You can stop those emails at any time.
- To understand which pages help people and improve the site.
- To protect the site and to meet our legal obligations.
How we share it
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only:
- With service providers that run this site and our client communications on our behalf, such as website hosting, our customer relationship management and email system, scheduling, and Google Analytics. They may use it only to provide those services to us.
- If you become a client, with the independent professionals your engagement requires, such as the actuary and the insurance manager, as described in your engagement letter.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fortress, our clients, or others.
- As part of a merger, sale, or transfer of our business, subject to the protections in this policy.
Cookies and your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google's browser add-on.
- Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also write to us and we will take you off the list.
How long we keep it
We keep the information you send us for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and longer only where the law requires. Google Analytics data is kept for no more than 14 months.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, which is one more reason to keep sensitive documents out of web forms.
Children
This site is for business owners and the professionals who advise them. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Your requests
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to contact@fortressrisk.com. We will confirm the request came from you, then respond within the time the law requires, or within 45 days where no law sets one.

Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
